I love how the NYT phrases this. Women, who traditionally are owned along with blacks by the DNC, are riding to the freedom of the RNC. The DNC is begging them to stay, arguing that life on the democratic plantation is beeyouteeful.

Why does it surprise people that public school teachers who can afford it might send their kids to private school? Public school teachers presumably know the problems of public schools better than anyone, and while they may be dedicated to working against those problems (yes, there are good public school teachers out there), that doesn't mean that they don't want to provide the best and safest education for their kids. 2. Further, why are the sins of the union(s) imputed onto every member? A lot of these people know exactly who their unions protect, and don't agree with the protection.

If Club doesn't mind, I think his post should be titled: "God I hate the fucking teachers unions!"

I didn't realize the unions were holding a gun to their members heads to force them to send their kids to private schools.

Seriously, the unions are a red herring. The same arguments could be made for owning a Honda while working at a GM plant, but I'd hate to be a Honda dealer in Flint, MI.

Of course, the car you drive is certainly an issue of lesser importance than the education your kid receives.

I think the points been made, but are you saying that lawyers earning hundreds of thousands a year but sending their kid to public school while bitching about a $5,000 a year property tax bill have a right to complain when a teacher making $50,000 a year decides to spend $20,000 of it on education for their kid?
