Granny Glasses
Any thoughts on Granny glasses on cute, thin women? Is it too Adam Ant, or is it a nice contrast?

Rolling Stone's Top 500 Albums
Yeah, I know that the Board has moved on to discussing baseball and flame wars and all sorts of interesting topics, but I had to comment on what a crappy list this was.
Sidd already mentioned that you should just leave jazz albums to a separate list if you're going to shortchange them. Kind of Blue not in the top 10? John Coltrane ranked #102 with the Zombies over 20 places ahead at #80?! The Zombies. Think about that for a second. Here are some pairings that show how flawed the list is: #58 Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart is better than #72 Purple Rain #89 Dusty in Memphis #100 In the Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra #103 Sweet Baby James by James Taylor is better than every rap album except P.E.'s It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back any R.E.M. album #180 The Definitive Collection by Abba is better than #197 Murmur by R.E.M. #245 Bryter Later by Nick Drake #358 Singles Going Steady by the Buzzcocks (twice as good!) #200 The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails is better than #346 Three Feet High and Rising by De La Soul (#346!) #303 Grace by Jeff Buckley #454 Getz/Giberto And, look who placed ahead of Radio City by Big Star (#403): #384 Pyromania by Def Leppard #396 Eliminator by ZZ Top #363 Ray of Light by Madonna #367 Is This It? by The Strokes #67 The Stranger by Billy Joel Cette liste, elle est merde. |
Speaking of Watches...
As watches are so important, and as I'm in the market for a new one...
Can anyone suggest a day-date watch that doesn't look like something worn by a Bennigan's manager? Try to keep it under $500. I know Rolex makes a day-date watch, but I need to pay off my loans. I've been looking on-and-off for over a year, so I remember the discussion on the Stalin Board, but none of the candidates were day-date watches. And I'm not talking about chronographs with 15 different dials and displays. I don't need to know where North is or how far under water I am. Advice appreciated. (And yes, my shoes are above-average in quality.) |
Have you seen Miss Jones?
Can there be any doubt that Renee looks better when she actually eats? She looks like she's in a better mood, too.

I think she looks too heavy in the recent pic, but too skinny in the earlier pic. She needs to be somewhere inbetween. Her arms are too fat in the recent picture and too skinny in the earlier picture. The funny thing is that I am so out of it from a pop culture standpoint, I don't know who that is. I prefer it that way. |

Apropos of nothing, Heather Locklear is one of those people who looks better as she ages. I never found her attractive in her Dynasty or TJ Hooker days, but she is now a hottie. And if she's had work done, it doesn't look too obvious. |

And I agree that she looks better as she has aged. Her jaw line was too angular when she was younger and the mid-face sagging has helped to kind of square her jaw off a bit. It is a softer look. |
