With the exception of work functions and two former colleagues, I don't socialise with lawyers who live in my town. Mostly I hang with granola munching tree hugging environmentalists, hippies, feminazis, and assorted leftwing activists. Also a couple of tech geeks and a few doctors.

Lucky for you I extracted the information about the dirndl. You wouldn't want to be caught without one of those in your closet.

This is actually remarkably similar to the halloween costume I just purchased.

Hmmm. I had no problems here. It's like I work in Phoenix, but with more humidity.

If only I were into role-playing, I could work that dirndl into something very, very noirish.

Though, why you think I might have Germanicosity in my background, I have no idea.

I was reading this Slate article about Burger King masks for Halloween and saw this link. Being a bit bored while finishing my salad before returning to my riveting work, I click on it.

Subservient Chicken

You can command a live man in a chicken suit. I'm not sure why but I find this very creepy.

When I lived in Chicago I don't think I had any lawyer friends. One guy who ran Group 1 at the track was a lawyer I think (although not twice as fast as me, hi mmmmm3098479873). I have more lawyer friends in Chicago now than when I lived there. Weird that.

As an aside, I recently had the opportunity to spend some up close and personal time with a group of friends from Chicago, the group was made up of MBA types, investment managers, Sr. REIT execs, management consultants and me. I was the only one who had to interrupt my personal time with work. When I referred to the "soul sucking" aspect of the legal profession I expected a knowing acknowledgement (since most of these guys run deals by the lawyers and probably know what a miserable lot that they are). Instead it was met with puzzled glances and questions of "why do you it?" I think I might move to Phoenix.

The majority of my friends are those type of people.
