Living in a semi-sophisticated city like Boston, one has the opportunity to see (and wear!) many different kinds of outfits. But when I saw a woman the other day who was wearing a full burka (the kind where only her eyes are not covered with solid black cloth), I shuddered. That is one scary fashion statement.

ETA: I like new socks, apparently.

I really would like to hook up with my first love. Unfortunately, the only time we have been in contact* since we were about 18** coincided with my studying for the bar and being severely depressed in the city I was in immediately after law school. So, he thinks I'm a total and complete fucked-up freak needy psycho bitch. I'm thinking there's not going to be any sex, though we joked about it when we were dating (getting together at some specified future date, like, um, 2006 maybe? or maybe it was 1996 or 2001).

I think I'm a little verklempt now, but I may not understand exactly what that word means.

There was a guy in college who lived in my BF's dorm on whom I had a mad crush -- a crush he stoked eagerly, the manipulative narcicisstic bastard, to the point where I nearly became obsessed. He was a year younger than I, and after I went to grad school I went back to campus for October break. I saw him at a party, and thought to myself, I am over him. Of course, because this is how things work, it was at this party where he decided to grab my hand, take me out back to the porch, and kiss me. He was a *terrible* kisser. Sloppy, all tongue. Had he done that my junior year, he could have saved me two years of agonizing (although in retrospect quite enjoyable) crushing. If I saw him today, I would not want to sleep with him.*

*Even if his kissing skills have improved -- I know this because I have googled him and found a picture, and he's gotten quite puffy. The soccer/rugby body is no more. Funny enough, he's a "consultant" to the "paper industry" in England !!!

I don't think there's ever been such a person, so I guess the answer is yes, I've hooked up with whomever I've really wanted to. Oh wait - currently I would really like to hook up with my friend's brother. He is on the radio and I absolutely despise him (on the radio at least, irl he is ok). So it would be a hatefuck. Unfortunately, his girlfriend is really nice, plus my friend would kill me. So not worth it.
