Anyhoo, I have come to realise that if I stop at the espresso place a little bit after the rush (which is easy since I rarely get into the office before 9) and order a trippio, they give me a four shots, a quadroppio, iyw. The reason being apparently, on the industrial espresso machines you can't do a single pour, its always a double. If I ask for 3 shots, its a double double, sts, and they have one left over. If its rush hour, no big deal. But after the rush, it would just go in the garbage. Plus, the barista is crushing on me. So, the result is, 4 for the price of 3.
This explains much of your recent posting.

You know, I was toying with the idea of making a comeback from retirement -- and I may do it someday, but that day is not today. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.

This is not cheering me up. I just euthanized my cat, I have the worst cold ever (for the 6th time this year), I have had to spend every day this week "managing expectations" (as in saying "sorry, that's not going to be ready"), self-evaluations are due soon (great timing), and ...

I'm not even supposed to BE here today!!!

It's true, actually. In the space of one episode of Go, Diego, Go we were packed up and out the door.

Lunch packed. Clothing applied to squirming 3 year old. We even had to change to an alternate pair of shoes when the second hot pink croc could not be located.

The Brazenette prefers her cereal sans milk, which means it travels quite easily.

You know, ppnyc, no offense and all that, but I think that were most people to have the opportunity to have b'n'b's lifestyle (or something even approaching it), they'd jump at the chance.

I think most people here could have your lifestyle, and yet, they don't choose it.

I understand if you're trying to convince yourself, but you're really not convincing anyone else. And no matter how relentlessly you pursue this line of "my life is better than yours", no one here (but you, apparently) would choose the life of paralegaling over b'nb's lifestyle.

We could all be paralegals if we wanted that.

I have to tell you dtb that was the closest thing to something nasty you have ever posted to me.

My mom was dumped on her ass after 20 years of stay at home martha stewartness. Her lifestyle went down like 70% in Q-O-L.

I would never fucking stay home if you paid me. It is my own personal quirk being projected on her but I am allergic to staying home. and my husband is a peach. it's not about him. it is my issue.

and you can tell me that my mom's situation is unique to me but then I'd have to call bs. I hear it all the time.

I think I finally understand where you were coming from a few weeks ago.

You were upset NOT because TM said you weren't pretty, but rather, because he lied about the fact that you ARE pretty. And he did it in a nasty way.

This means that you met with TM and subjected yourself to his appraisal NOT because you were seeking validation, but rather, you were just meeting so that he could verify your prettiness. No more, no less. It's the fact that he lied that set you off.

Have I got this right now?

No one is saying you are wrong for making the choices you have made. People take issue with your foisting your choices upon others and your apparent attitude that if someone doesn't make the same choices you do, they are somehow not doing the right thing.

I implied I was a pretty girl that gets a lot of attention. I do. Attys here buy me coffee, give me sbux cards, take me out to lunch.
