I once had a third-degree sunburn on my chest that took 18 months to completely heal and fade. Since then I use a light facial moisturizer which seems to have done the trick, then use a facial sunblock in summer or just cover up.

We have *got* to bring back parasols--not the frilly Victorian crap, but maybe something with a cool Japanese or other handmade paper that would look sleek with modern clothes!

Speaking of tans, I am reminded of a quirky tale back from my NWestern days when I lived in Evanston. We had a joker who lived in the house next to ours who would pick the hottest day of the week to go out in his yard at high noon and push a lawnmower around in nothing but cutoff jean short shorts and flipflops. He was about 47, naturally bald with a flabby beergut. He would start out the season butt-white and by mid-July he was as red as Carrottop’s pubes.

Funny that you never see supermodels mowing their lawns in the near-nude. I wonder why.....

If you were a supermodel, would you mow your own lawn?

Judge says nizzle-shizzling not an offence
1 hour, 26 minutes ago

LONDON (Reuters) - A judge has ruled that the lyrics of a rap record urging the listener to "shizzle my nizzle" and referring to a "mish mish man" did not constitute an offence.

Presiding in the case of UK rap artist Andrew Alcee against the Heartless Crew, High Court Judge Lewison ruled that not only were the lyrics not necessarily offensive but that they may as well have been in a foreign language.

If I start seeing people carrying umbrellas when the sun is out, I will grab them out of their hands and snap them in half. You live in the burbs, so you cant possibly understand the pain and suffering of umbrellas on congested city streets carrieb y oblivious, non water=resistant selfish fucks.

I only reversed sun damage on my face -- freckles, wrinkles, etc. -- with years of weekly acid peels.

I absolutely hate the freckled skin on my body, but I deserve the damage I caused by using tanning oil and baby oil rather than sunscreen.

Oh, and making sure I got a good burn in the spring to set the stage for my tan. Not to mention the hours I spent on the water with the reflected sun and no freakin hat while sailing.

I became much smarter around age 20, but still caused a lot of unnecessary damage.

reality news

First, MTV was denied the right to film on the UC Santa Cruz campus, where they're following Delta Omega Chi for Fraternity Life 2. Now, two fraternity members are in trouble for stealing, killing, and eating a 50-something-year-old Japanese koi fish from a campus pond. They "used a stolen rake to swat the gentle, 3-foot-long fish out of the pond, killed it and later cooked it," according to the Santa Cruz Sentinel. The DA is looking into charges, and the students could be expelled; the fraternity says it just two members were involved, not the whole fraternity.

Also...

FOX's The Simple Life, for which socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie lived in rural Altus, Ark., has wrapped production a week early. Page Six reports they "grew to be 'loathed' by the locals during filming," and says "Richie even 'got into a bar fight' at one point." Paris' representative says "they only shot four [weeks] because Fox had enough footage. ... There were no bad feelings and I'm not aware of a bar fight."

n(any bar fight was no doubt related to Ms. Richie's search for a rural dealer)cs

Executive Editor of The Times and Top Deputy Step Down
By JACQUES STEINBERG

Howell Raines and Gerald M. Boyd, the two top-ranking editors of The New York Times, resigned this morning, five weeks to the day after the resignation of a wayward reporter named Jayson Blair set off a rapid chain of events that exposed deep fissures in the management and morale of the newsroom they had led for just under two years.

. . . .

Mr. Sulzberger said that on an interim basis, Mr. Raines, who was the paper's executive editor, would be replaced by Joe Lelyveld, 66, his immediate predecessor, who retired in 2001. There will be no immediate replacement for Mr. Boyd, 52, who was the paper's managing editor.

I agree. This is the type of chicanery you would expect from a Buddhist.

Spree: Inmates get paid ten times as much as law students to get peed on, and they don't have to even let someone videotape it.

Fuck Underscore Yahoo

Well, I guess I can go out and party tonight bc fucking Yahoo put the results of the Serena- Justine semi in their little news box . Fucking stupid. Hey Yahoo, most poeple dont give a shit and those who do are aware the match was just on and know where to get the info IF THEY WANT IT. And, PS, the match is being recast in its entirey on ESPN tonight for those of us who work during the day. SO why spoil it?

Apparently putting Less on the ignore list for the duration of the tournatment is not sufficent. I have to turn off my computer. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

And note I am not spoiling it. But am warning others to avoid yahoo.
