Dems will pick up four seats (no Harold Ford, alas, and George Allen gets six more years in which to ponder what might have been but for that Macaca punk bastard getting him on tape) in the Senate and 20 in the House. Karl Rove gets hailed as a genius who snatched victory in holding the Senate out of the jaws of defeat.
Which is nothing, given how much (a) the GOP currently sucks and (b) historical stats of votes during the 6th year of a sitting POTUS.

CNN thinks it's breaking news that Ted Kennedy is going to get re-elected.

Cue Penske.

I didn't know he was up. Shit, and probably some other Kennedys will win in Congress. Tell your Mom and GGG's family to stay off the streets. Keep any women-folk indoors. Kennedys are celebrating!

How's the referendum on strip clubs going?

That's really sad.

THE CONSCIENCE OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IS A KLANSMAN.

Pretty much undercuts the foundation for any of these yahoos to criticise Bush.

I am counting on the fact that Jesus loves strippers too, to carry the day. If that fails, there always out-call service to one of the private rooms at my club.

My grandmother lives in Pennsylvania and has severe short-term memory loss. She loathes Rick Santorum. Over the next few days, she gets to learn, again and again, that Santorum has lost. She's going to be so happy.

AARP ads on how to vote started running here at 9 PM tonight. Is it just me, or maybe AARP should hire some younger people to plan its ad timing- you know guys that don't forget to do stuff on time.

Nobody deserves to lose more than him. Well, except George Allen, who might just be retarded.

I like Allen. I love drinking with rubes. He honestly looks like a completely imbecilic Tommy-Boyish goof who's probably a lot of fun, in a laugh with him and at him sort of way... I, for one, find that sort of thing funny. Those people are always good for a laugh.

The guy's no racist, you understand that. He just says dumb shit like macaca because he thinks that sort of thing'll make him popular with the locals. Which makes him even more absurd. They have to elect him. We need more fodder for Jon Stewart.

Allen's no rube. He grew up in Newport Beach, California. The question is why he started posing as a rube when he went to Virginia. In law school he drove a pick-up truck with a Confederate flag sticker on it. WTF?

I should have done that with my first ever protest vote. I was so sick of the negative ads by and for -- some of the worst were run by the parties not the candidates -- the DFL and GOP candidates for governor I decided I couldn't vote for either of them.

The sad thing is that wasn't even the most negative campaign. But I'm not in the congressional district that was the ugliest.

My prediction is that Minnesota will again have the highest voter turnout in the country.* We may vote for weird people, but we do get out and vote.

*With 2 1/2 hours left before the polls closed, I was voter 1240 out of 1900-some registered voters in my precinct.

Looks like Rove spooked everyone too. Our predictions sucked. GGG got a bit of redemption only because he kept changing his picks.

Election's not quite over - I want to change my picks one more time.

Based on our predications, this is clearly better for the Ds than any of us expected.

I hope John Hall gets together the old band to play the national anthem when the new session opens.
