I was expecting a museum, but found a lounge with a very lengthy port menu, as well as some nice cheeses. Probably not appropriate for a lengthy visit with the kids, but definitely worth checking out.

Mrs. Str8 and I wound up spending about 3 hours there one afternoon (before she was Mrs. Str8) and had an awesome time.

Shabu shabu, and it's inland cousin, Mongolian hot pot, are both very good things. In fact, it's worth buying a fondue pot for these and never, ever making fondue.

There's actually a chain, called the Melting Pot,, that's quite good. Not cheap but quite good.

This morning I had a McDonalds Sausage and Egg biscuit. With cheese thrown on. Because SOMEBODY started talking about them here a few days ago.

This afternoon for lunch I went to an Italian deli near Dodger Stadium, and had "The DA Sandwich." This is an otherwise ordinary meatball hoagie with cheese and marinara, except that you add in a healthy dose of italian sausage. And then throw some roast beef and pastrami in there.

For dinner tonight, I will have a heart attack and die.

Pineapple is very good in chocolate fondue, as is cheesecake. And brownies. I learned this at the Melting Pot. I also learned that it's a very bad idea to have a three-course-fondue-meal at the Melting Pot starting at 9:30 p.m.

2. there was one near us and it was always crowded. we went there and had 2 thoughts: 1: it's really sloow
2: anything you order is such small portions that you have to order lots = big $$$$


Anyway the long delays explain the "crowded" way more than the food does. anyone who walks in is there for 2 hours minimum, so the tables stay full. the place closed once everyone within 50 miles learned this lesson.

I would never have eaten that sandwich. Not my thing. But aren't the sausage egg and cheese biscuits AWESOME? So fucking good.

I had the picadillo at versailles for lunch. Pretty good. The garlic chicken was really good too, even cold.

I ate the other half of my DA sandwich (see above for description), and then took my dog to get her vaccines, and then swapped out my empty propane tank for a full one, and returned the Sarah Silverman movie and Hustle & Flow to Blockbuster. (Both were enjoyable).
