Adam Sandler married
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...=Entertainment
Spree: MALIBU, Calif. — Actor Adam Sandler wed Jackie Titone on Sunday in an outdoor ceremony that was attended by celebrity friends and his pet bulldog dressed in a custom tuxedo. "Sandler got married," the comic's Web site said. "Woopity Doo!" No other details were immediately available. I can't help it, I like this guy and find most of his movies funny in a silly "I don't have to think about it too much" kinda way. :grinning: If you go to his website there are some nice photos. I am not very fashion-savvy but I like her dress. |
The Hulk (no spoilers)
The Hulk sucked. Too much talking, not enough of the Hulk smashing stuff. Even with all of the ECUs of the lovely Jennifer Connelly, I could barely stay awake. If the Hulk would have just kicked ass and smashed stuff for the whole movie it would have been cool.

Apropos of nothing, how could the bozos who made a movie out of "The Bonfire of the Vanities" have created such a clusterfuck out of Wolfe's amazing story of Wall Street in the 1980s? Incredible. That was a truly awful movie -- casting decisions may have been the whipped cream on the cake of badness. I mean, Tom Hanks as Sherman McCloy? Jesus! Bruce Willis as the British reporter? And, yes, Melanie Griffith as the mistress? Arg! |

Just to preempt, "Paigow, I know that I add nothing to the discussion of anything and people don't care about my opinions or non-opinions because I add nothing, but I'm still going to post this." |

Yep, Bonfire was a casting disaster. But there were some diamonds in the rough. Morgan Freemen played a perfect judge and the cat who played Al Sharpton was appropriately ugly and offensive. And F. Murray Abraham played a good sleazy DA. Oh, and the cat who plays Sherman's dad is great as well. Thate scene where he says "Well, Sherman, I've always believed in telling the truth, but if the truth won't set you free, lie." That little nugget might explain the morality of upwardly mobile America better than any piece of cinema in history. In light of the current corporate prosecution mania, that book is ripe for a remake. S(oh, and fuck Updike and Mailer for saying Wolfe sucks. Updike's a bore and Mailer went OTH 30 years ago)D |

Izzard, Dunst, and the Movies
Quote:
Anyway, I like Kirsten Dunst. Bring it On was a very fun movie (and I love the dude from Upright Comedy Brigade as the "spirit fingers" coach) and I also liked her in Crazy/Beautiful. |
Posner waxes philosophic about homosexuals . . .

Lewis-Klitschko
Quote:
I couldn't watch the last two rounds of the Lewis-Klitschko match on Saturday night. The gore factor was just too high. Klitschko certainly proved that he has heart. Both fighters proved that you need more than two weeks to prepare for a fight in order to have some strategy going in. The fight resembled a bar brawl more than a boxing match. That said, we'll get Lewis-Klitchko II on ppv whenever they decide to air it (and whenever Vitaly's face is healed from the gashes he received from Lennox's left). |

My favorite little tid-bit "The two men were charged with misdemeanor charges of menacing and harassment." I gotta ask, what kinda numb-ass fucks with Tyson? I don't care how many buddies you have to back you up -- I would not fuck around with Tyson. |
