This is probably too serious a post for the FB, but I will risk it. PCOS affects approximately 10% of reproductive aged women and is the most common cause of infertility among women (it is highly treatable with meds, BTW). An interesting thing to note is that one of the characteristics of PCOS is excess testosterone. The excess testosterone does not cause PCOS--it is a symptom of it. I am curious, however, whether the excess testosterone has any correlation with lesbianism. Something along these lines...one develops PCOS (which is made worse by the low fat, high carb diets all of us--until recently--have been told to eat; not surprisingly, diagnoses of PCOS have soared in recent years), which leads to higher testosterone levels...which makes women somehow more attractive??

Maybe an idiotic line of reasoning, induced by excessive bar study issue spotting, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I have a friend with PCOS. She suspected she had it several years ago, and asked her doctor about it. He ordered the test, she got back negative results from the lab, so she started looking into other possibilities. A couple of years later, having found no other explanation that covered all her symptoms, she checked back and found that the doctor had mistakenly ordered a PSA test. Of course it came back negative--she doesn't have a prostate, let alone prostate cancer! So they ran the right test, she got the diagnosis she had suspected all along, got on the right meds, and now she's lost tons of weight and makes many fewer visits to the aesthetician.

Moral of the story: nothing wrong with checking the lab order form before they run the wrong test.

I don't believe there is any correlation between excess testosterone and lesbianism. Nor is there any correlation between lack of testosterone in men and homosexuality.

I would not be surprised if some differences were found biologically speaking however, though at the moment when something is found it is normally just amongst a small percentage of the population. Lesbians, as a whole are one of the least studied groups, medically speaking.

As I recall, the backup plan was to ask "Are you a fag in a cage?", a test which also boasted 100% accuracy.

However, the test for cancer, while non-invasive, had less conclusive results, as it tended to be interrupted by a non-sequitur.

I am intrigued by these gay tests, I'd not heard of them before. How did you know lesbians in middle school? Is this like some hetdar or something? Cool! Do you have something that is the equivalent of the rainbow flag you put discretely on the back of your cars causing you to wave and honk at each other? When you are walking down the street, do you look each other in the eyes and sort of connect for a second and nod knowingly at one another? Or is that like when men burp or fart and laugh really hard when their womenfolk look all irritated? I don't think gay men do that...of course, I am sure none of the men here do that either. In fact, I think you ALL are gay.

I kinda agree with your direction of thinking. Perhaps four weeks worth of Michael Bolton or Stevie Wonder would do the trick. Maybe they could do the theme song from Titanic on continuous replay.

I remember some of the psychological analysis of this as it was happening. The "experts" were making much of the fact that Noriega was supposedly a big fan of both classical and opera. As such, it was argued that he could easily appreciate most any genres of music and could possibly withstand the PsyOps for any number of weeks.

Personally, I got a bigger kick out of the PsyOps stuff they pulled at the Waco compound - complete with animal sounds (cows, elephants, chickens) at all hours of the night.

The ulitmate gay male anthem is course Pete Townsend's "Rough Boys".* That record execs and agents let Townsend release this tune on an album, let alone make a video for it and release it as a single, shows just how coked out everyone in the record biz was during the 80s.
