The Fashion of Baby Names

All lessons learned on the playground, as strange of a concept that is. I can't believe how much of that trival crap affected my character and personality.
And my kids, and your kids and most everyone's kids will also have to go through it and learn in their own way, growing up can be tough. My point is this, if I can give my kid one thing less to worry about, why wouldn't I do it? Why pour it on? To build extra character? To see if he/she can hack it? This is my kid, don't I wan't to protect them as much as I can?
And though you were halfway kidding, I bet that most of the serial killers and whatnot were probably picked on at school and are forever trying to make others pay for that.
Anyway, just something to consider.

YOU worry too much. One less thing for your KID to worry about? Come on. If you think that way, you won't know when to stop removing obstacles for him or her.
I take my kid to the playground every weekend. It amazes me how many pansy ass parents won't let their kids experience what they will be experiencing soon enough when they aren't around. All I hear from these parents is, "Don't let him use that, that's yours," and "Hey! My daughter was going to get in that swing, she was headed right for it and YOU ran ahead of her!" or "Don't run, you might fall down!" I'm not implying that my kid is a bully (quite the contrary -- my child hands toys over to other kids when they come and try to snatch them and I let it happen because why rush the idea of "mine mine mine" -- but I digress).
To sum up: If you like the name, give them the name. Spending time trying to figure out which life experience your child should have or avoid shouldn't start before the little fucker is even born. But I'm a learn-as-you-go kind of guy.
