Mama Desta's is on Clark near Belmont (I think a little north of Belmont, and on the west side of Clark, but I may be misremembering) (right by where I used to live!!) and Ethiopian Diamond is farther north on Broadway w/cross street listed as Glenlake.

I have been to Mama Desta's but not in years and years and I don't remember it very well. I don't remember it sucking, if that helps. Zagat rates Ethiopian Diamond higher. I'm sure there are many other ethiopian restaurants -- only 2 were listed for LA metro area and there are many many many more than that.

ETA muscle is twitching again. not as much, though.

it's all about you and restaurants local to you?

no. Taxwonk is also "very involved with food" and I have to help him also. Telling him about LA Ethiopian restaurants doesn't help him much, although if he were truly helpful he would have pulled the fire alarm at a certain Chicago lawfirm yesterday at about noon.

I'm pretty sure that when Clark hits Belmont it's neither south nor west enough to be in LA.

Supernova

Unfuckingbelievable.

My boy Magni was just too hard rock for them. Which is fine I guess, because I would never go to a Supernova show with the "original" crap they've had this year. Tommy Lee has obviously spent too much time with Motley Crue and doesn't really know "ROCK." Hi Mr. Man!!

NotFromHere 09-14-2006 12:55 AM

OK

Unfuckingbelievable.
So now Supernova will never sell a concert ticket to me or thousands and thousands of "chicks who like hot guys who sing well." (meaning Toby - the Thunder from down Under) .Fuckers. I didn't like Supernova anyway.

Fuckers.

Dilana is originally from South Africa. She now lives in Houston.

I thought Skunkboy was the perfect choice for a band destined for major suckage. Magni, Toby, Dilana and my girl Storm all got tons of exposure and should be able to use that to further their careers. And they aren't stuck with Supernova, Tommy Lee's ego and their ghastly boring songs.

Too bad the house band is going on tour with Supernova because I think a concert with the house band and Ryan, Storm, Magni, Toby & Dilana would be lots of fun.

What is the meaning of your location line? Because it sounds really hot.

I can't be alone among the women in thinking it would be great to be with a man with eight hands. It would be even better if they were retractable, for appearances' sake.

Meaning some Hindu esque deity with the 8 arms all waving at once? That kind of visual?

Speaking of visual stimulation, what is the meaning of x-ray eyes? you are staring through chick's shirts? or something more sinister in nature.

when they caught Jeffrey Dahmer, he had like 12 hands, if you count the ones in his refrigerator. Would that be too many?

I don't DO chunky highlights girl. I'm asian I don't mess with the color. They layer my hair and that is it. I think Fekkai can handle that. and I don't even think he is OUT OF STYLE really. who is in style? garret or garren salon or a few of the 700 dollar places? that ain't how I roll.

And [wrinkling my nose] my hair does look better with the Bumble shampoo. I did the whole Kiehl's and Fekkai shampoo [and redken and joico and biolage but whatever]

Fringey actually gave me the names and locations of two Chicago restaurants. (Thanks, Fringey!!) Thus, she was very hepful.

And if you want bmb threats, fire alarms, etc., you have to give me advance notice. For future reference, if the deposition is going that badly, you can always fake a heart attack. I know a plaintiff lawyer here in town, since retired, who used that trick on at least two occasions. Truly one of the profession's leading lights.

Lessons learned by RT so you don't have to.

If you wash a faux chanille blanket with the rest of your darks, your clothes will still be covered in fuzz no matter how many times you rewash/put them in the dryer. If you wear the fuzz covered pants to work out in, you will slightly resemble a muppet when you take off your clothes.

Why do you take off your clothes while working out?

I passed a place called Fang Laundry a couple of weekends ago. My companion suggested their slogan should be "We take a bite out of grime." I'm thinking of making t-shirts. I'll make millions!

There's only one Ethiopian restaurant in Houston, and it's in the middle of nowhere (i.e. outside the loop). I haven't had Ethiopian food since I left Berkeley.

You take it all so personally! I have no idea what you do to your hair. The chunky highlights comment, as originally made, had nothing to do with you, except as a companion piece to Fekkai. And hey, if you're going to advertise every label in your (literal or otherwise) closet, be prepared for a little snap.

And I don't know who's hot right now. I did Garren in 1994 and then Brad Johns (home of the "buttery" blonde - can I namedrop, too? I used to chat with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy there, before her untimely demise) until that imploded (I had friends who killed to get into Fekkai before it got all inundated with B&T, nttawwt), then I followed my stylists to Oribe, which I didn't love, but I did love Adrian and Aandre. Eh, see how pointless and dorky it is to advertise all that? But since you do, it's fair game for comment. Snarky isn't a one-way street.

And speaking of pointless, what is the point of telling me your hair is way past your shoulders? Mine is long, too. Now, have I impressed with my hair-growing ability? I sure hope not.

There is much fine dining outside the Loop. In fact, you have to go outside the beltway to get to some of the best barbecue and Asian.
