I wish i had your hair then. My natural color is dishwater, with a smattering of gray. And my hair is so fine that if I don't color it or otherwise do something to damage it slightly, it hangs on my head like a limp rag. Very attractive.

I color my hair the color that it would be if it had warm brown tones in it instead of dishwater dull. I think many people think it is my natural color, but it is actually my natural color plus.

I'd thank my dad for the awful hair color, the annoying fineness of it and the premature graying, but he is dead now, so I don't think he'll be apologizing any time soon for it. My mom has naturally dark brown/black, thick hair that is just starting to get gray at the temples now that she is over 60. Bitch.

So has anyone tried the Schick Quattro? I have stood by Gillette since the days of the Sensor, moving on to the Sensor Excel, the Mach 3, and the Mach 3 Turbo. But lately I have noticed a decline in quality. It seems like the razors wear out quickly, and often they seem dull on first use. Just yesterday I nicked myself with a brand new blade. This is unacceptable for a product that bases its price roughly on the price of gold. I'm considering a switch.

If you've not had your make-up professionally done in a while, you might go to someone to see how the makeup looks have changed. We're far past the days of cakey, overly made-up faces. I rarely look made-up, but I can look as fresh-faced at 2 am after a night of drinking and dancing as when I leave the house in the morning. I use makeup to look younger -- eyeliner to help my eyelashes appear darker, without succumbing to the spider look of too much mascara, lipliner and gloss to make my lips red like they were when I was young, maybe a little illuminating powder for that healthy glow after the third late night in a row, etc.

Because I spend a lot of time around people significantly younger than I, I can clearly see the difference in their skin tone and texture. I still don't look as old as I am (which sometimes makes my clients a little anxious), and, thanks to a great dermatologist and aesthetician, as sun-damaged as someone who spent her first 20 plus years on the beach should.

I am a middle of the road independent, probably also not a shocker. I have little conviction and even less loyalty. I expect politicians to cater to my outsized ego. If they catch Osama, I'll vote for Bush (possible, I guess, but not likely). However, if I got laid off, I'll vote for John Kerry (again, chances are slim to none - I so vehemently expect politicians to cater to my outsized ego that I actually insist on voting for candidates whose views reflect my own - can you believe the arrogance!).

BR(I, too, was disappointed that one couldn't shoot both the french internationalist and the KKK dude. Priorities are priorities, but I really wanted a shot at the french guy.)C

I think I've said this before here, but I've switched to disposable razors for three reasons: (1) Mach 3 blades are fucking ridiculously inexpensive. You think a $9000 handbag is crazy? Try 8 blades for $17. Fuck you; (2) the pivot head makes it very difficult to trim the sideburn area and under the jaw line. I thought it was supposed to make shaving easier? Not for me; (3) I seem to get a closer shave with disposables, which makes no sense at all.
