3. I am not sure what "retarded" means here (above), but I recently had my ears pinned back, sts, by a parent of a developmentally delayed child when I used that word offhandedly, so I stopped using it.

4. Maybe you think its a lousy title, that's fine. I think a lot of your posts suck, i.e. my comment about subjectivity, but I don't weigh in each time to say that. You obviously think that they are fine and/or worthwhile so that is what it is. I either scroll or don't read or read and frown or whatever. No big deal

5. the contest is what the contest is, if you don't want my title, win the contest. I won. I picked it a gratuitously self-congratulatorily self-promotional title. That is who I am. I have never said I wasn't a gratuitious trash talker. In fact, irl, I own up to it quite frequently.
Obviously, we need a new way of naming threads.

They could go to donors. Or there could be a contest (whenever we hit 4000, best lyric wins the right to name the next thread). Or we could do it at random or by consus.

I'd recommend one rule: Penske has had his day and should get no more.

Well, not yet, but in a few hours.
In a few hours, I will be wearing black, lycra Castelli shorts, a skin-tight orange Nike jersey, Smith biking glasses, light blue Sock Guy socks with sun-like logos on the side, and Specialized shoes with Dura-Ace clips. I am not sure which gloves I will be wearing.

Maybe we could have a contest and establish a consensus on the best permanent name.

Why not continue to heep derision on those who come up with sucky titles? As RP points out, we're like family.

Smug for having a good memory? Or smug because you knew them in the first place?

My boss is taking my boyfriend and me out to dinner next week. Should I wear my new Pucci dress? I am dying to wear it. Dying.

Probably the half-fingered gloves. It's warm and I'll be on the road. If I could find some with sequins, I would wear them. Same goes for the socks.

Absolutely.. But I think you should change "I" to "me" in your first sentence.

PS in a couple/few hours, I will have a rubber band in my hair. An hour or so after that, I will rip out a bunch of hairs taking it out of my hair.

If your boss is generally quite stylish, and the restautant has that oh-so-hard-to-find combination of exquisite cuisine in a dressy-but-funky atmosphere, then wear the dress. Otherwise, it will be underappreciated, which would be a tragedy. A smallish and fleeting tragedy, but a tragedy nonetheless.
