Still a gay man trapped in a woman's body?

Apropos of nothing, don't you just love it when you hear a song that you haven't heard in a loooooooong time, and the absence of that song from the zeitgeist allows you to listen to it with a fresh set of ears?

I just heard "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?" while channel surfing. Growing up, I heard that song (the whole Bacharach and David and Warwick oeuvre, actually) constantly, thanks to the local babysitter. Dreams turn into years, how quick they pass...

Ahem. Musical flashback over. Carry on.

Plus, Mr. Depp is hot.

And they had cool costumes. No, not the Peter Pan crap, the main female characters.

ETA I think I have been gone to long, and had too much coffee and not enough sleep while gone, and totally whiffed.
Oh, I have no idea what Finding Neverland is about. I was just saying that you were giving the Sideways guys too much credit for youth.

Again, I need a first name for the google to work.

The movie did not appear to support the position that JM Barrie or whatever his name is was actually molesting the boys upon which Peter Pan is based.

Paul Giawhatever is under 40. If you are old enough, middle-aged angst is understandable, though not pretty. If you are under 40, it's just fucking annoying.

But really, I just wasn't in the mood.

[all the mes that are "first name last name" are me. Some weird shit comes up if you don't specify that my first name has to precede my last name.]

Speaking of youthful appearance, I nearly picked up a law student at an art event last night. I think we were equally shocked at the relative difference in age. I swear, he looked older than his 24 or so. Apparently I didn't. :D

There were two nice-looking guys at Thanksgiving dinner. Both of whom are freshmen in college. I decided, regretfully, that it would be inappropriate (well, and futile of course) to try anything.

That's because Mr. Clooney is clearly lying about his age. He says he's 46 (I think), but I saw a show that said that he was on the Fact of Life in 1985 and while he could have been 20, he looked closer to 30.

Is this the best/easiest wine opener on the market? I want to get it as a gift for someone and it looks easy to use. Anyone have a bad experience with it? Is there something better? (Yez, I know it's expensive.)

I have one in that style and like it and find it very easy to use. A friend just got one in that style and thinks it's much, much easier to use than the kind where the arms go up as you twist the screw into the cork, and then you push them down to pull out the cork.

I have found with mine (don't know what brand it is) that it is more difficult to use with plastic corks than on cork corks. I don't think I've used any other type of corkscrew on a plastic cork, though, so that may be just generally true of plastic corks.

I've had several of this basic design over the years, and the first one was the best. There's something weird about the newer ones, and it's hard to get the leverage right. You have to lower the bottle below countertop height in order to open them.

I have the Rabbit* and it's OK. Not better than others, but not the best I've ever used. The problem is you sort of have to try them out in order to get the proper feel, and you can't do that over Amazon.

*and the other Rabbit, but that's not relevant here. I don't take corkscrews to bed, except for the express purpose of opening a bottle of wine. Now I'm having flashbacks of True Romance. BTW, I had an excellent chocolate port the other night.

Chocolate port? That sounds wonderful. I didn't know there was such a thing.

My favorite corkscrew is a simple, cheap one where the arms don't go up as you turn it into the cork -- you just keep turning and the cork moves up. It's two pieces, one shaped like a T, and it goes into a hole in the bottom of an upside-down U. The legs of the U fit around the side of the bottle, obviously. It's very easy to use.

As for bringing a corkscrew to bed, it's funny you should mention that, because last night I opened, in the kitchen, a bottle of port (with a corkscrew), and poured a glass with the intent of bringing it upstairs, but before I could do so, I got screwed right there on the kitchen counter, by a dark haired man, who looked very good against the red walls in the background, by the way. So it was not necessary to bring the corkscrew to bed. You know, mountain, Mohammed, etc.
