How many can you keep track of simultaneously 1) without getting confused about who's on calling you on the phone when a voice says "Hey, it's me!" and 2) remembering which name to say in bed?

And how will the datees distinguish nonononon and Paisley? Is it easier with avatars on?

And you also have to keep track of to whom you've told what stories. Like if you keep having to ask him if you've already told him something, then you are dating too many people. I find it very hard to date simultaneously because it messes with my head.

Oh, please. I hate stretch limos.

Possible solution to #2 - dating only men who share the same name? Giving everyone the same pet name?

With respect to #1 - "hey, you! how are you?" is usually enough to get them talking to buy time to figure it out.

Excellent point. Would it be distracting to keep a contemporaneous written log as you tell each amusing anecdote?

And always remember to introduce each to subsets of your friends.

I will never forget: I was 16 and my dad's best friend, who was recently divorced came over to the house with his girlfriend. I asked her "So how's the teaching job going?" and she said "I'm a nurse."

Do you really want to go down as the first person to be put in the Land of Fu, Once Removed? Because ppnyc responds to every post, but you respond to every one of her posts. And that's really a sad reason to be banished, don't you think?

For a time, on flights between the UK and the US on UK carriers, you were allowed NO carry-on luggage. Only your travel documents and prescription medication. Everything had to be carried in a plastic bag (supplied by the airline).

I didn't read the story, so I don't know if that was the case with her.

Now, TM, be kind to me. I considered your earlier suggestion, and cold turkey is just so...hard. So I'm taking a weaning-off approach. You have no idea how many urges I've quelled.

Far be it from me to be a moniker timmy, and please don't take this as criticism because I think you have one of the best screen names ever, but is "dtb" still appropriate?

look, I'm just a nuisance sock, so maybe I have nothing to add, but

1) attempts to logically explain shit to PPNYC don't seem to be effective- all 180 of them failed- so you can stop those

2) as I said yesterday, arguing with her can't be fun, and certainly the "wins" are meaningless- so you can stop those

I'm guessing it's the alcohol. One evening, after drinks at Cantor's, friends and I donned some bright orange construction cones and ran down the street with them on our heads. We looked smashing!

when Taxwonk says he played "rock" in a band in grammar school he means he actually took two rocks and banged them together as the class learned cave painting.

Orangina

My orangina bottle is dented. This is messing with my head, because it's glass, so I couldn't have done it, yet I keep reacting as if it were plastic and I could get it back into shape. Does anyone know what is up with this? Is it meant to be a place for your fingers? I find it disconcerting.

Secondly, there could be no worse way to spend your lunch than shopping in both a Macy's and a CVS while possessing the foolish hope that you will get out of either store quickly and without a throbbing headache.
