It's to spread the popularity of basketball, internationally and to give countries who would have no chance of ever beating us that chance. And it is working, but don't act like these rules are somehow better or more fair or whatever because they were developed by an "international standard-making body, of which the US is a participating member."*

*I had to put this in quotes because I don't want anyone to think I would say something so toolish.
2. and it's not just the NBA that's "different", it's the whole of the US, and we invented the game. ain't no big ass key at my local playground. I just think we can overcome......

However, I am telling the truth about certain subjects such as ppnyc making my skin crawl, ncs being the bestest internet gf ever and my boyfriend being well-endowed. Basically the rest is bullshit.
Oh, no. So the part about the blowjobs.... ?!?!!

Putting coffee in a cup and taking my money, whether at the corner deli or starbux, is not a service for which a tip is customary. Taking my dry cleaning, giving me my change at the grocery store, giving me my paper, and selling me my train ticket are also not "services" for which a tip should be expected.

Bringing coffee to my table: different story.
When I was 16 and working at Friendly's (hi g3!) as an ice cream scooper, we had no tip jar (I think that they might now), but sometimes, out of the foodness of their hearts, people who came in and ordered a bunch of sundaes to go, or even those who were picking up to go food orders, gave me a tip of a couple of bucks. I must say, as an underpaid, never-much-cash-in-my-pocket high school student, I appreciated those people. And I never spit in *their* ice cream.

I have no point. Just thought I would share.

I sometimes throw my change in the Starbucks tip jar and I never buy anything there that costs more than $3 (I don't go to Starbucks very often and I can't remember whether the tea costs more than $2 or not, but I think not). The change means nothing to me, so I don't care whether it was earned or whether it is a tip-appropriate service or not. I doubt they make a killing off of the proceeds of the tip jar. They probably started putting one up because some people were tipping and if there is a tip jar, the tips are actually shared by all employees instead of the counter kids getting all the tips.

Yes sir.

Just got lunch. Sandwich shop trying to be more than it is with faux suede chairs and a fancy floor, but a smaller menu than its sandwich joint parent that's all around the district. Tip cups (water cups) next to the registers. Register girls do nothing but take your money and hand you your change - and they put the fucking coins on top of the bills, no less. Won't even put your sandwich, fruit, chips, and honest tea in a bag. The bags are over on the side with the salt and pepper and forks and napkins. You have to bag your own lunch your own damn self.

Fuck them and their plastic tip cups. I'm keeping my .57, bitches -- even though I don't even have any fucking pockets!

The regular typos in your posts take away from the merit that I, and I am sure others, can place on the content.

Think about it.

El Duque wasn't good enough to start for the White Sox last year in the playoffs, and he's going to be your No. 1?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Duque. What he did against Boston in relief last year was just...unbelievable. But he's not a No. 1 starter.

I think I'm set though. The 80s nostalgia has pretty much set in, and American Apperal has a gold lame body suit. I saw the lame leggings in the window as I was driving down Westheimer yesterday.

Lord help us all, I think they're expecting people to wear this in a non costume party setting.
I can't be alone in thinking that lame should really always be pronounced without the accent on the e.

Like I bet gilligan would tip, but the professor wouldn't.
My daughter worked this summer at one of those rib/chicken/burger places where you go to the counter and place your order, but they bring it to you and bus your table. She had much the same experience.

For the record, I always tip at that place, even when I'm not sitting in Princess's section.
