Clemastine (Tavist) My mother loves this stuff; I find it does nothing for me. Again, an antihistimine. Tavist-D adds Phenylpropanolamine, a decongestant. Apparently, Phenylpropanolamine is bad. I just checked WebMD to see what else was in Tavist-D and this is what it said:- Phenylpropanolamine, an ingredient in this product, has been associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding into the brain or into tissue surrounding the brain) in women. Men may also be at risk. Although the risk of hemorrhagic stroke is low, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that consumers not use any products that contain phenylpropanolamine.

There's some spray stuff I use that you are supposed to use on a regular basis. It's not evil spray decongestant that feels sooooo good (but then makes you even stuffier the next day); I think it's an antihistamine. If I use it on a regular basis, I can't tell that I'm slightly allergic to the cat (i.e., no fits of sneezing when it sits up by my face). I want to call it Chrom-something but not sure if that is right. I'll check tonight. It may have very bad stuff in it though; I'm not sure.
ETA it's Nasal Chrom. I think. Baltassoc can tell us if it will cause brain bleeding or whatever.
