There were so many one-liner, unintentional laugh-out-loud moments that it fucked up what actually wasn't such a bad story line.

I think if you're going to make a sequel on this level, just take the main character and leave everything else from the first. Especially when the story in the second is so big. You can't tie everything in unless you're Tarantino and you started by making just one movie and got carried away.

They spent all their money on special effects (which were pretty good) and none on fight choreography. Diesel is, well...diesel and pretty impressive, but most of the fight scenes were filmed in that up close style so that you couldn't really see what kind of moves he was using. That always sucks (except in that one scene in Gross Pointe Blanke). And he looks slow.

Anyone like this movie?

No good, huh? I was half wanting to see it because I liked the first one so much. But it seemed that aside from the main character, the elements that made the first one good were missing from this one. (Low budget, expectations thrown out of whack, isolation related terror, small group paranoia/dependance.) The trailers for this one seemed like it was trying to be a full on sci-fi extravaganza that used the full on special effects instead of the situation to magnify the story.

That said, I'll probably go see it, because I think Vin Diesel is hot.
