He probably remembers, but didn't want to say "hey remember me, the one-nighter" you know just in case there have been more that a few dozen one-nighters and maybe you wouldn't really remember him.
Did I tell you the story of how I met a friend in a bar one night and his buddy was there and we were talking about really bad dates in college (he lived in the frat next door) and he said his worst date was with a girl in my sorority and I said my worst date was with a guy in his frat and he says "yeah she drove a blue sportscar" and I said, "oh my god that's me." Small world. We both had a shitty time, and I thought it was just me.
