You, Sebastian, among all posters, have a unique ability to obliviously contradict yourself within the same post.

Its a symptom of stream of consciousness blathering...
But, I think my post is consistent throughout. Kicking a ball is at best a pedestrain skill. It cannot be equated with the skill involved in running a pattern, getting loose from a defender and watching over your shoulder a 35 yard missile, all the while timing your speed to make sure you're in perfect sync with the ball. I also don't think soccer passing is nearly as difficult as football passing. In football you have to be absolutely on the mark. Have you ever tried to throw a perfect dart to a covered receiver? Shit, on the short-to-mid passes across the middle, you have to fire a stinger and on the long ones you have to measure the distance, speed of receiver and put just the right sizable amount of arm strength into it. Its harder than throwing a perfect breaking ball, which is really hard. From what I've seen of soccer passes, guys just kick the ball within several yards of the guy they're passing too and hope he's open. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't look nearly as complicated as football.
ETA: Actually, the breaking ball is not the hardest pitch in baseball. Throwing a hard inside curve to a batter batting from the same side as you're pitching is next to impossible. I have always been in awe of people who could do that.
