I like it b/c you're mostly in the river, instead if being on top of the inner tube. The fact that you're wearing the life jacket like a diaper has nothing to do with going to the bathroom. It keeps you in a perfectly upright floating position, and there's nothing more comfortable than floating in the water. It's like being in a recliner in the water.

If the river is moving relatively quickly, and there are like rocks and stuff, or the water isn't really deep all the way, the big yummy doughnut protects you from sharp edges, etc.
