Apropos of nothing, an informal bumper sticker poll of the cars in the Piggly-Wiggly parking lot shows a fair number of Kerry stickers, although the W 2004 ones predominate around here.

So what, you say? Well, I don't remember ever seeing a whole lot of Gore bumper stickers in Podunkville four years ago. In fact, the only one I remember was on a Volvo wagon with Vermont license places parked at the Curch of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion -- it was in the rear window alongside a "If You Want Peace, Work For Justice" and a "You Can't Hug A Child With Nuclear Arms." I think that it belonged to Father Rivera's sister Maria.

I was in an antique shopin Delaware last week and saw a vintage Nixon/Agnew bumper sticker. I almost bought it for my car, but was afraid it would fall apart too quickly. Unfortunately, my car fell apart this past weekend, so the bumper sticker likely would have outlived the car. It's almost ironic.
