Last summer, I shared some post-closing time beers poolside with some members of DeLay's staff, who were visiting a neighbor and dear friend of mine. We were all too wrecked for discussion of serious issues, so we joked and talked about politics and political strategy in a general way.
They agreed with me that Tom's appearance could be rather harsh, and I tried to convince them that it would be good for Tom's career for him to receive a makeover on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I could tell they were intrigued, but all I could get them to commit to in the end was to try to work with Tom on his hair.
I never thought of the muzzle. Perhaps they could borrow yours?
