Then again, looking at the list of people who showed up today to be interviewed, Keyes may not be a bad choice....

-- Ice Cream magnate Jim Oberweis, who finished second in the primary and ran very scary ads on TV about illegal immigration.

-- Retired Air Force Gen. John Borling, who finished sixth in the primary (whackjob).

-- Norm Hill, who finished seventh and showed up uninvited today (whackjob #2).

-- Chirinjeev Kathuria, who finished in eighth and last place (whackjob #3 -- suing Chicago Tribune for expose they did challenging his resume).

-- Former national drug-control official Andrea Grubb Barthwell (named in sex harassment suit for admittedly condoning harassing conduct).

-- Conservative businessman John Cox, who already is Republican candidate for Cook County recorder of deeds (ultra-ultra-conservative).

-- Martin Ozinga III, president of Ozinga Bros. Inc., an Alsip concrete company.

-- Terry Barnich, former chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission and former chief counsel under Gov. James Thompson.

-- Steve Burgauer, the 2002 Libertarian Party of Illinois candidate for U.S. Senate.

-- Andy Martin, who changed his name from Anthony Martin-Trigona, a perennial candidate in Illinois and Florida elections (whackjob #4, also denied admission to IL bar allegedly for frivolous lawsuits and disparaging comments about the judiciary as a litigant).

-- Daniel Vovak, a Florida resident who ran against George W. Bush in the Iowa primaries and whose chief claim to fame is that he wears an 18th Century-style powdered wig (whackjob #5, sign this guy up!).

Looks like I'm voting for Obama. (Not as strange as it sounds -- I've met him and actually gave him $$$ for a congressional primary run 4 years ago).
It's a shame Garfield Goose is dead. HE's better than all those other clowns combined.
