You have even more trouble with dates than Kerry does. He was off by a month. You're off by more than a decade. He wrote his journal at the time. The first time he said something about Christmas or Christmas Eve was 1979, right?

No. The eve of the holiday was purely rhetorical. The whole fucking point was that he was risking his life in Cambodia when the official position of the government was that we weren't there. That it was Christmas was icing on the cake, but the cake is still cake without it.
And that is why you guys should just keep talking about it. Because one candidate mixed up the dates on which he was risking enemy fire at the command of a boat inserting CIA personnel into Cambodia, while the other guy pretends that he was flying jets protecting the coast of Texas when he was really working for a Republican politician.
