How old are you? This is a critical factor. If you are in your 30's Chi-town is out. If you are in your early to mid-20's Chi-town is in. In your 30's, Bay area and NYC are in but San Diego is out.
No other cities are worth living in.
So if you are in your 30's, it is either the Bay area or NYC. Pick one based on whether you fear terrorists or earthquakes more.
