This is probably as good as anyone will get from Bush (and, frankly, I feel spent on the issue). You should know, Club, that liberal bloggers and pundits have expressed dissatisfaction with Bush's latest statements, as being far less than a wholehearted repudiation.
That can (and will) be debated ad nauseum, but in any event I think it's a tremendous stretch to say Bush's "repudiation" was so strong that Kerry should now reply with a "whoops! Sorry, I was wrong about you not being against it! Apologies!"

No. It is so, probably because to impose anything remotely like that would lead to the mass imprisonment of all officials who run for public office. Granted, that may not be a bad thing, but you'll need to come up with some short term alternatives before enacting that legislation.
