I think that my mouth was washed out with soap once or twice for saying a bad word. What's the difference? I've drunk a bottle of tabasco sauce and eaten habaneras as two separate dares and I've come in second in a jalapeno eating contest, so I might not be the best judge on this sort of thing as punishment. I really like sangritas.

I agree with you though that I wouldn't want my kid to have an aversion to spicy food or think of it as a punishment.
