I'll just note, it wasn't just fluffing the system to get the medals. It was fluffing the record to get
out via three purple hearts (if true).
It doesn't even come close to not going in the first place (and after my public school upbringing, who wouldn't understand trying to get out of a war). The problem is, it ain't necessarily something he particularly should be bragging (and using as a distinction from Bush) about if he doesn't wanna answer questions, and if the distinction ends up just casting them both in a bad light in oh so many ways.
