Maybe the "real life" part controls the dream content. I had a project paper that I ignored until way too late. It was a project to design a machine to do something, and my paper as finished was completely factually flawed on its face. Still, handed it in smiling and got a 2.0. This is probably still the basis for my nightmares.
On the other hand, the ability to knowingly hand incorrectly reasoned papers to authority figures did help me over a lot of bumps when learning litigation.
