Um, no. He pulls it off with people who already luff him to pieces. For the 70% of Caleeforneeans who voted against him, the constant movie references long after the campaign makes California look like a bit of joke.
Reagan knew how to use it sparingly, so he could be taken seriously when he needed respect.
