Anyone getting that message already thought it before the guy was outed. It changed not a thing in their minds.
You have reason to be pissed that your party disqualifies a broad category of fundamentally decent people from holding office. But putting the blame for this on those who refuse to be hurt by closeted people's complicity with an anti-gay agenda is a little skewed. You're the one saying that it's important to know that Kerry drives an SUV while supporting emission controls. I agree with the Bilmore who says that dissonance between a politician's platform and his life is relevant to his qualifications.
Gay people have a right to be anti-gay in their politics. But if you are going to be an anti-gay gay, you don't have the right to do it from within a closet. That is the moral authority I give to people who want to point out that the guy who just voted to deny gay couples adoption rights did so because his public marriage allows him to have kids
and get truck stop blowjobs.
