I see it as being less of an intentional slur against gays than it is a simple, direct, in-your-face-you-PC-slugs insult or taunt to Dems, thrown out for laughs because everyone knows it enrages its targets. As for "men being better", I don't think people get that out of it at all - it's more of a "a guy should be a guy" sort of thing. They would laugh just as much, I think, if some woman was called "manly-girl".
In any event, I think that's the way it's
meant. I know that's not the way it's perceived, and I wish he'd stop using it.
I think the next childish wave will be to yell "Halliburton" or "Bush Lied" whenever more intelligent thoughts stop flowing.
