I'd say you write well, but build loads of assumptions in. If your readers miss, or don't share, those then we misunderstand.
What about those who quietly sit back and support those clinic bombers' activities, or lend the fugitives aid? Or who would quietly be pleased if there was a Christian fundamentalist theocracy established in the United States?
