I think the gelding calls are based, not on being suckered by a fake, but on being so openly and aggressively partisan that he is willing to suspend normal good journalistic practices to try and sway voters with what he knows is crap but that he presents as reliable. Look at his continued defense - that's not a sign of continuing good-faith belief in the provenance of the docs, but a continuing willingness to push his ideology to the exclusion of all other considerations.
I want his balls, not for negligence, but for an intentional act.
