I've decided to have a movie weekend, since it's been awhile. I'm planning on seeing Sky Captain and/or Hero tonight at the big multiplex, and Garden State and/or Silver City (I love both John Sayles and Chris Cooper) tomorrow at the more artsy place. Shaun of the Dead also looks promising and has made the list. I keep meaning to see Maria Full of Grace, but I'm not sure if it will make the cut this weekend. I heard a fairly decent review of the Motorcycle Diaries this morning on NPR, but I don't think it's here yet. Sunday's movie watching will entirely depend on how footballed out I am.
You can check for a composite of movie reviews at
www.rottentomatoes.com. It's not entirely fool proof, but they do go through all major (and a lot of minor) movie reviews and give average ratings to everything, and they link to all of the reviews for that particular movie.
This is a direct link to reviews of movies in theaters right now.
I saw the Corporation in a sneak preview a few weeks ago, and I really liked it. I think it was just released nationwide. Oh, and I loved, loved, loved Before Sunset. If you liked Before Sunrise, I think you'll probably like Before Sunset. The Bourne Supremacy is still out in some places, and I really thought it was good. Also, Spiderman was much better than I thought it would be. If you haven't seen that, you might want to check it out.
