Speaking of that first date (together), he was ostensibly walking me home (we had eaten at The Saloon -- I know, how cheesy -- but that was the area where we were, and there's not much around there, or at least there wasn't at the time, but I digress), but as we get to 72nd St., he says, "Where do you live, anyway?" When I inform him that I live on 104th Street, he decides he'll just see me to a cab, as that's something of a hike.

I later realized that 72nd Street was the intersection at which he decided to pipe up about the distance to my apartment, because he (that lazy sack o' crap) lived on 72nd St. Coincidence? (Actually, I know it wasn't a coincidence, because he later confessed it was -- as I suspected -- pure and simple indolence.)

I would just like to point out that your description of the date is not inconsistent with having fucked in the bathroom at the Saloon. Or gone upstairs at the Saloon and fucked. It seems like there are frequently fucking rooms in the upstairs portions of saloons, at least in westerns.
