Anyway, I have heard comments like this recently, and I think they're more common in other parts of the country than they are in New York. I have heard people use "Jew" as a derogatory verb, and I've certainly heard derisive references to the practices of Jews. That sucks, but it still goes on.

I'm curious. When people say offensive things in your presence, do you have any reaction? Or when it comes to indicating whether you think their views are legitimate, have you concluded that it's "a tough call to make, but that she should do whatever she thought was right."
