Yes, I am certain there is a genetic component. It isn't simple mendelian genetics and environment can influence the probability that the genetic propensity will be expressed. The twin studies and the adoption studies all show that drug/alcohol abuse/addiction show a pattern of expression that is consistent with a genetic etiology influenced some by environment.
