I don't understand how a person navigates while asleep -- whether it is walking to the subway stop or driving around to have sleep sex -- without running into things. Is there some muscle memory that guides you around familiar routes without conscious thought or is part of your brain awake and keeping you from walking into a bus or driving into a tree while the rest is asleep?
