You know, people like the ACLU have argued for years that immigrants and other non-citizens (read: furners) should be accorded constitutional rights, and conservatives have said, no. If you think Elian got hosed, maybe you should stop kvetching about the ACLU, because they're out there trying to create precedents to be used by the Elians of the world.
OTOH, if you only care about immigrants from Republican constituencies in swing states, carry on.
