Once, Pablo's accountant was honored to have been asked. He brought as his guest, his dowager sister. The aging woman, had only recently learned to appreciate impressionism, and knew not of Picasso, or for that matter much of what passed for thoughtful expression inthe prior 40 years. Still the accountant knew she had been recently left by her husband, and he felt the chance to get out, and catch intellectual fare might be very beneficial to her.

as with many grand plans, this crashed a fiery death. while the assembled guests spoke of topics like the German expressionists and some of the fine noir novels that had been recently published by the independant press in France, the sister simply, and loudly, questioned Pablo's servants as to where they had purchased the chafing dish and other bakeware.

When papa had the masterpiece wheeled in, its intial effect was always the same- stunned silence. after several minutes the sister grew agitated, and finally, with fanfare announced "well I know what everyone is thinking, and I'll be the first to say it, my child could have done this!"

the guests, thinking the accountant had brought an actress to play the role of buffoon laughed heartily. he recognized the moment and ushered her to a cab.

Man, I never get tired of reading that. I thought you all might like to see it again, too.
