The Cards were shut down - whether they showed up or not, coming off the Yankees, the Sox were unstoppable.
But, whatever the Cards did or didn't do, they don't inherit the mantle the Sox have thrown off; that mantle has passed to the Yankees. That was one incredible CHOKE you guys did. It was a CHOKE that surpasses every Red Sox choke in history. It was incredible.
And our MVP learned to play virtually in the shadow of Yankee Stadium.
You heard it here first. The mantle, and the curse, have passed to the hubris-filled Yankees.
I can't wait until next year!

Ha. Typical Red Sox fan.
You're right. The Yankees choked. No argument here. And I agree, the Sox were on a roll when the Cards ran into them.
But get a fucking grip. The Cards were pathetic. Stupid fucking mistakes. Trying to hit home runs every at bat. Rolen was hitless. They were absolute crap. Boston played well (aside from all those errors), but the Cards played like shit.
Enjoy your year. And keep telling yourself that you can erase the decades of fucking futility and embarassment the Sox have put you through with the 2004 performance. Next year, things will be back to normal and you'll be bitching about how much we've spent again.
And, for the record, we have 26 World Series Titles and are the most successful franchise in all of sports. How many championships do you have now? Jeter will have more championships when he retires than your whole fucking franchise.
