A-Rod only became overrated when he became a Yankee (one year). His career until then (as a SS), strictly by the numbers*, had been unbelievable. Just insane stats for a SS.
*which doesn't include any effect he has on a clubhouse, considering every team he has left has significantly improved after his departure.
Don't get me wrong, I hate him.
And Jeter consistently put(s) up above-average offensive years when the power-hitting SSs around the league, e.g., A-Rod, Tejada, etc. were knocking in 140 runs.
