No, it really is about Israel. For the fundamentalist Christians (i.e., Christian Zionists or Jesus fucks as they are called here on the PB), they believe that Israel is the fulfillment of a biblical prophecy and without Israel, Christ won't return. For others in the Rep party, we see Israel as a democracy and look at what the alternative would be without Israel - another arab state run by thugs and a breeding ground for terrorists.
Moreover, we recognize the parallels between the european presence in North America and the existence of Israel. I'm not giving my land back to native americans. We already know where RT stands on this - she is fighting for the land her people stole. How about you? You giving yours back?
