I was talking with someone about who we could hire to do something for us.

The person said he couldn't really think of anyone, but oh, we might use Mary. Mary just had a case on the subject in question and the jury handed down a verdict against her client in ## number of minutes. You should know, in law school, Mary was named Mark.

He then went on to give me the name and number of someone he suggested.

So I wrote back, I don't much care about Mary's past, is ## minute verdict fast for this kind of case, and what kind of lawyer is she, would you suggest we hire her?

He wrote back no, he wouldn't suggest that and yes ## minutes is fast.

I felt like writing back, so what was the point of your bringing up this person's name and discussing her? Did you just want to ridicule someone who had a sex change?

Instead I just wrote back, Ok.

This isn't the most stupid thing anyone has ever said to me, but it just happened and it is pretty dumb. Goes out of the way to be offensive. Guy obviously thought he was being funny, and wow was it not funny.
