I missed this. I suspect the question actually belongs on the Mom and Dad board (Congratulations!).
We made the decision to leave the little guy alone when we had a son, even though Dad was put under the knife. Never had a real problem keeping it clean - gently with soap and water - and so far we haven't had any issues with him looking different than Daddy.
The research indicates that there is a slightly higher level of infection, particularly in the first year and in the early teen years (when hygiene oftens becomes an issue), but, again, no real issues for us yet.
So, I say, unless there are religious reasons, why circumcise?
