Anyway, if I were the judge, I'd be pissed at both lawyers. I'd be more pissed at the one who did the Grinch filing. I thought that it was incredibly unprofessional and offensive. The dude who objected to the "vacation letter" was a prick (absent some emergency reason as to why the hearing couldn't wait until later -- like a discovery cut-off, or previously scheduled depo that the docs were needed for), but didn't deserve to have his face superimposed onto a pleading.
