Hypothetically, if the person has any money and can afford counsel, you make some calls and find him someone who knows what he is talking about in relation to the arrest. If the person has no money and cannot afford counsel, but can afford bail, you tell him to keep his fucking mouth shut until he can find a way to get someone who knows what they are talking about to help him out. If he can't afford bail, tell him to keep his fucking mouth shut and ask him who he wants you to call to get the money for bail.
I have dealt with this more times than I care to, and mainly the shut the fuck up and finding money to get them out of jail is the top issue. Assuming it is a small issue that got the person arrested If you are talking murder or something, all I can say is get the guy someone who knows what he is doing ASAP.
